About Me
My name Russell Leggett. I’m not the first, the last, or the only person to be part of the fight, but this blog represents my own attempt.
Personal
This is my family/zoo. My beautiful wife Jenn, our son Cole, two dogs (Roxi and Noodle), and cat named Pesto. Not shown is our iguana, GWAR. We live the middle of nowhere in upstate NY in a small town called Hoosick Falls.

Shortly after my son Cole was born, I had a strange thought. What would the web be like when he’s old enough to use it. Will we have officially reached web 3.0? All kinds of things had a whole new perspective. I have always been an advocate of the Open Web and web standards, but somehow it all became more urgent. I began to think - at the rate the web has been moving, we may finally be at the point where web developers can ignore anything below ie8. That thought made me very sad. Following that thought further, I realized that there was no possible way that the Open Web would be able to compete with Flex/Silverlight/JavaFX in the web application space. So here I am.
Professional
I am a Software Engineer for Taggart Software, a small startup company trying to build the next generation of Loan Origination Software using the Software-as-a-Service model. My part in the project has been designing and implementing the client architecture using a custom JavaScript framework.
